Fence Installation in Scarborough

Straight lines, tight boards, gates that close properly in February. Every post is set a minimum of 48 inches deep in concrete — below Toronto's frost line — so your fence stands straight through freeze and thaw.

Splitting with a neighbour? Boundary fences are shared responsibility under Ontario's Line Fences Act. We'll quote it so both households see the same numbers, and handle the conversation-starter paperwork for you.

How Your Fence Gets Built

Most 100–150 ft fences are finished in one to three days.

Measure & Written Quote

We walk the line with you, flag slopes, roots and tight access, confirm the survey line, and price it per foot — in writing.

Locates & Layout

Utility locates are called in (it's the law before digging), lines are strung, and post positions are marked and approved by you.

Posts in Concrete

Holes augered to 48″, posts set plumb in concrete. This step decides whether your fence leans in five years or stands for twenty.

Boards & Gates

Rails, boards and caps go up, gates are hung and latched, and we walk the full line with you before final payment.

Toronto Fence Rules, In Plain English

Height Limits

Side and rear yard fences can usually go up to 2 metres (about 6.5 ft) without a permit. Front yard fences are typically limited to 1 metre, with stricter sightline rules on corner lots.

Permits

Most residential fences don't need a building permit — but pool enclosures do. We verify the rules for your lot before we dig.

How Long It Lasts

A well-installed cedar fence lasts 15–20 years with staining every 2–3 years; vinyl runs 25–40 years; chain link outlasts almost everything. Posts set deep are what make those numbers real.
