Custom Deck Building in Scarborough

A deck should still be level in fifteen years. We build that way — proper footings below the frost line, a solid ledger connection, and materials matched to your budget and how you actually live outside.

Choose Your Deck Material

Three honest options. We'll tell you the trade-offs straight — including when the cheaper one is the right call.

Pressure-Treated Wood

$45–$70 / sq ft installed

The most affordable way to build a large deck, and the GTA's workhorse material.

  • Best value per square foot
  • Strong, easy to repair board-by-board
  • Needs staining/sealing every 2–3 years
  • Typical 300 sq ft deck: $15,000–$20,000

Western Red Cedar

$60–$90 / sq ft installed

Natural warmth and colour that pressure-treated can't match, with natural rot resistance.

  • The best-looking wood deck, period
  • Naturally resistant to decay and insects
  • Softer wood — dents more easily
  • Typical 300 sq ft deck: $18,000–$27,000

Composite & PVC

$80–$130 / sq ft installed

Capped composite and synthetic boards that never need staining — the top choice around pools and hot tubs.

  • Zero staining, sealing or sanding, ever
  • 25+ year manufacturer warranties
  • Highest upfront cost, lowest lifetime upkeep
  • Typical 300 sq ft deck: $30,000–$40,000

What's Included in Every Deck

The boards are what everyone budgets for. The footings, ledger and framing underneath decide whether the deck is still level in ten years — so they're in every quote we write:

  • Concrete footings below the frost line (48″ in Toronto) — no frost heave
  • Proper ledger flashing where the deck meets your house — no water damage to your rim joist
  • Building permit arranged and inspections passed, where your deck requires one
  • Stairs and code-height railings quoted up front, not added later
  • Old deck removal available — priced in the quote, not a surprise

How Your Deck Gets Built

Four steps, one crew, no hand-offs.

Free Site Visit & Quote

We measure your yard, talk materials and layout, and leave an itemized written quote — valid, in writing, with no pressure.

Design & Permit

Final drawings, material order, and the City of Toronto permit where required. Most Scarborough decks need one if attached or over 24″ high.

Footings & Frame

Holes dug to 48″, concrete footings poured and inspected, then the frame and ledger go in — the invisible work that makes a deck last.

Boards, Rails & Walkthrough

Decking, stairs, railings and finishing touches, then a full walkthrough with you before the final invoice. Most decks finish in 1–2 weeks.
